TROPICAL COCONUT & LIME MARGARITA

These Tropical Coconut & Lime Margaritas are such a fun and festive summery cocktail. We don’t do complicated around here, so you already know they are super simple and quick to make. It’s important to note that these margaritas are just as delicious without the tequila. So if you prefer a mocktail, you will love these!

Whip up these margaritas for a day spent out in the sunshine, hanging by the pool, or to enjoy while watching a warm summer sunset.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE COCONUT & LIME MARGARITAS

  • Coconut cream: I buy canned coconut cream. It’s super inexpensive and you can find it in the baking isle of most grocery stores - I get mine from Trader Joe’s.

  • Lime juice: What’s a margarita without lime juice?

  • Agave nectar: To add to the sweetness of the margarita. Honey or maple syrup could also be used in place of agave.

  • Tequila: You will want to use a high-quality blanco tequila for these margaritas. You can use reposado or añejo if it’s all you have on hand, but I cannot guarantee the taste will be as good!

HOW TO MAKE COCONUT & LIME MARGARITAS

  1. Grab a couple of rocks or margarita glasses and rub the rims with a lime wedge, this will help salt or sugar stick to the rim. Tip: I recommend a sugar rim for coconut margaritas. I used a hibiscus sugar.

  2. Pour a bit of salt or sugar (whichever you’re using) onto a small plate. Run the rim of the glasses through the salt/sugar. Set the glasses aside.

  3. Add the coconut cream, lime juice, agave nectar, and tequila to your blender and give it a quick blend to mix all of the ingredients. You can also do this in a shaker if you prefer.

  4. Fill the rimmed glasses with ice and distribute the coconut margarita mixture evenly into the glasses. This recipe should make about 3 margaritas depending on the size of your glasses.
