Chemicals in store-bought cleaners can cause headaches, skin irritation, breathing complications, may disrupt hormone balance, and in more serious situations, can even cause cancer.
Not to mention the negative effect these chemicals have on the environment!
I feel like we have been conditioned to associate the smell of bleach or other strong chemicals with cleanliness and the truth is, it’s the opposite!
Once I started looking in to making my own products, I realized how simple and inexpensive it could be. WIN!
I’ve shared the easy recipe for this all-purpose cleaner below. It’s only four ingredients! Feel free to switch the essential oil blend up if you’d like.

DIY NON-TOXIC CITRUS ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER
ingredients:
- 1 - 3/4 cups filtered water
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 15 drops orange essential oil
- 15 drops lemon essential oil

- Add all ingredients to a 16 ounce spray bottle and shake well. Use on kitchen counters, cabinets, bathroom, or any other area you would use a regular all-purpose cleaner.
